Getting Started

Get up and running with TrialSage in under 5 minutes.

1. Create Your Account

Visit /signup and enter:

  • Full Name — your name as it will appear on audit trails
  • Organization Name — your research site or CRO name
  • Email and Password (minimum 8 characters)

Your account is created as an Admin of a new organization. You can invite team members later.

2. Explore the Dashboard

After signing in, you land on the Dashboard showing:

  • Active Studies — number of studies in "active" status
  • Total Subjects — all subjects across your studies
  • Recent Studies — quick links to your latest studies

3. Create Your First Study

  1. Go to Studies in the sidebar
  2. Click New Study
  3. Fill in at minimum:
    • Protocol Number (e.g., PROTO-001)
    • Study Title
  4. Optionally add: Phase, Sponsor, Therapeutic Area, Description
  5. Click Create Study

Your study starts in Setup status.

4. Add Sites

  1. Click into your study from the list
  2. Scroll to the Sites section
  3. Click Add Site
  4. Enter: Site Number, Name, Principal Investigator, City, Country
  5. Click Add Site

5. Enroll Subjects

  1. On the study detail page, scroll to Subjects
  2. Click Enroll Subject
  3. Select a site, enter Subject Number, Consent Date, and Consent Version
  4. Click Enroll Subject

Subjects start in screening status. Their status can be transitioned through: screening → enrolled → active → completed (or withdrawn).

6. Customize Your Settings

Visit Settings in the sidebar to configure:

  • Theme — System (follows OS), Light, or Dark
  • Font — DM Sans (default), Inter, or System
  • Density — Comfortable or Compact

These preferences are saved to your account and apply on every device.

Next Steps

  • Transition your study status from Setup to Active
  • Add more sites and subjects
  • Check the audit trail (coming soon) to verify all changes are logged
